New Visual

We have generated a new visual that depicts radial distribution of bloggers around the sphere.

This visual is based on 1465 distinct relations between 620 bloggers.

Parser Upgrade

We have upgraded our blog parser. For the past few months the php xml parser library we used was having problems while parsing feeds from some blogs (specially the blogs with beta rss feed from blogger). We tried a walk-around but it also failed to parse all the blogs all ...

Separating photoblogs and ‘traditional’ blogs

Greetings people!

As you may already have noticed, the recently updated page looks a bit 'empty' on days when photo bloggers blog simultaneously, in a short interval and in abundance. Even though we have a handful of flickr users listed at the moment, there appears to be a relatively large number ...

Development Mailing List

Hello. It's been some time since we haven't been up for any development. Not to mention that we haven't been fixing bugs either (embarrassed). But expect a more solid experience with this post because I have made quite a lot of bug fixes and have changed how the automatic batch ...

Capcha

Due to the extreame amount of automatic emails we got through the submit form, I have implemented an open source (captcha) bot test to it. I hope this reduces the spam. I only noticed the spam in my junk mail folder, I have to say that Mail 2.0 (osX) is ...

Link Cloud

After a long time, I have made another visualization today. Basically it counts the number of links a blog has, to and from other blogs within the mvblogosphere (including the unlisted ones). It then generates a dynamic Link Cloud, using a not so mathematical formula i derived balancing functional aesthetic ...
